In other words, an ecosystem refers to a distinct ecological unit that consists of various organisms and their surroundings, all interconnected through the flow of energy and matter. Ecosystems can vary greatly in size and can be found in various habitats such as forests, oceans, deserts, grasslands, wetlands, and even urban areas. Here are a few examples of ecosystems: 1.
